Curtain Call is a literal journey song about leaving my old life in
Manchester in the UK to start a new one in New Zealand where I was originally born and trying my best to make it as a musician keeping faith in my dreams.
On the flight from Dubai to Brisbane the plane I was on, (a Boeing
A380 double decker) it caught the tail end of the most ferocious and
biggest storm the world has ever known "Typhoon Haiyan" over
Indonesia.
This huge plane I was on was up and down with turbulence for about
5hrs and really did give you an idea of the powerful strength mother
nature can bestow on you... I can't imagine how bad it must have been for people on the ground in the path of it and he loss of life and destruction that it caused...And my heart goes out to all who suffered from the wrath of such a force.
All the while with me being more worried about the life of my guitar
in the hold below me than my own. Typical musician.
So yes quite the literal journey to say the least! I hope you enjoy
the song as much we did writing it and that some of you can identify with the lyrics too. Never stop dreaming. Thats how realities are made;)
Cheers
